How to export your collections

Toby offers multiple ways to export your collections as well as multiple formats to choose from depending on your use case.



How to export one collection


Step 1: Open the collection's menu

  • You can find the collection's menu on the right-hand side of the collection title. Click on the three vertical dots to display the modal.

Step 2: In the collection menu, select "export"

  • Click the "export" menu entry of the collection's menu. 

Step 3: Click on the format of your choice to start the download

  • Click one of the three formats (JSON, HTML, TXT). The download will start automatically after a few seconds. See below for more information about each format. 



How to export multiple collections from the same Space:


Step 1: Select the collections you want to export

  • Hover your cursor on the collection's title to display the checkbox
  • Check the box for all the collections you want to export

Step 2: Click export on the overlay menu

  • Click export on the overlay menu at the bottom of the screen to bring up the export modal

Step 3: Click on the format of your choice to start the download

  • Click one of the three formats (JSON, HTML, TXT). The download will start automatically after a few seconds. See below for more information about each format. 



How to export all your data:


Note: at this time, exports do not preserve the org and spaces structure, only collections and tabs.

Step 1: Open the user menu

  • Click on the "user" logo at the bottom left of your Toby screen

Step 2: Select "Export" in the user menu

  • Click export under the Data section

Step 3: Click on the format of your choice to start the download

  • Click one of the three formats (JSON, HTML, TXT). The download will start automatically after a few seconds. See below for more information about each format. 



The different export formats

Json

  • The best option if you are trying to backup your collections or plan to reimport them into Toby (account migration for example)

HTML

  • The most compatible with bookmark managers and browsers 

Text

  • A simple list of all the URLs
