Chrome Groups in Toby

Chrome tab groups keep related tabs together under a name and a color. Toby works with them: it shows your groups with your open tabs, saves a group as a collection, and can open a collection as a group.

Turning on tab groups

  1. Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar.

  2. Under Account, click Preferences.

  3. Under Tabs, turn on Enable Tab Groups, and allow it when Chrome asks.

Now when you open all of a collection's tabs, they open as a Chrome tab group named after the collection, in its color. While the setting is off, Toby asks each time whether to open a collection as a tab group, until you tick Don't ask again.

Saving a group as a collection

  1. Open the Space you want to save into.

  2. In the open tabs panel on the right, hover the group and click Save session.

  3. If Toby asks, click Save & Close Tabs, or Save & Keep Tabs Open.

The new collection gets the group's name and color.

Changing a group from Toby

Hover a group in the open tabs panel and click Edit to rename it or change its color, or click Ungroup. You can also drag tabs into and out of groups.

To sort your open tabs into groups for you, use Smart group. See AI Grouping.
