Extension Menu

The extension menu is the small Toby window that opens from Chrome's toolbar. Use it to save the page you're on, or a session, without leaving what you're doing.

Opening the extension menu

Click the Toby icon in Chrome's toolbar.

Don't see it? Click the puzzle piece icon to the right of the address bar, then click the pin next to Toby. The Toby icon now stays in your toolbar.

Saving from the extension menu

The Toby icon opens the menu in Chrome's side panel, which stays open while you switch tabs. For a small popup instead, click Settings, then Preferences under Account, and turn off Open Toby in the side panel.

The name of your workspace is at the top. Click it to switch to another workspace. Below it, pick one of these:

Save Tab

Saves the page you're on.

  1. Pick Personal, Starred or one of your Spaces. To find a collection faster, search for it.

  2. Click the plus next to a collection. A check mark shows the tab is saved.

Hover a collection for more: open all its tabs, save your unpinned open tabs into it with Save session, or add it to Next.

To save the unpinned tabs in your window as a new collection, open a Space and click Save session at the top right of its collections. See Saving Session.

Group Tabs

Sorts the tabs in your window into named Chrome tab groups. Click Smart group to let Toby suggest the groups, or select tabs and group them yourself. See AI Grouping.

Next

A short list of pages you want to get to soon. Click Add current open tab to put the page you're on in the list. See Toby Next.

Gives the page you're on a short name. Type a name, and from then on you can open the page by typing to/ and that name in the address bar. See Toby Links.
